I do a number of things, but my overriding focus is the climatic and ecological crises humanity faces. Given current scientific projections on how fast the planet is heating and the extremely limited time we have left to reorganize our ways of life, I run all I do through the 'climate' test; will what I do help usher in a safer future? I am Engagement Lead at La Trobe University on the four year Commonwealth Funded 'Murray Darling Water and Environment Research' Program. I am also an Honorary Research Fellow in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, La Trobe University, have an academic background in Environmental Policy and Philosophy. I am the producer of Music for a Warming World, a multimedia art/music project on how to live in this challenging new world that (some) humans have created through our general disrespect for the planet.A specialist in research development, I have worked most recently at La Trobe University in a range of roles, including manager of the Research Grants Team, Acting Manager for the Ethics, Integrity and Bio-safety, policy writing and major grant development. I have worked in research management for 15 years at the Universities of Otago, Melbourne, Swinburne University and La Trobe. I have advanced capabilities in policy, conceptual and strategic thinking, relationship management and team leadership. I bring significant experience at both central and faculty levels with advanced understanding of successful industry engagement. Solution focused with high-level communication skills. I taught public policy, environmental policy, introductory sociology and the philosophy of science at Lincoln University (NZ) from 1996 to 2004, the last 5 years full time while completing my PhD. I have been an active member o fthe Australasian Research Management Society, in conference organising, Convening the Victorian Chapter, ARMS Board Member (two terms) and President for one term.
