I am a medical doctor; I was, before that, a wilderness trails guide. I work with Protected Areas and ecotourism businesses. I work from the Cradle of Humankind. I have a special interest in cognitive psychology and the human archetype of “Health” and how this is relevant to the conservation of the natural environment.I believe that the world’s medical profession is a powerful untapped resource that we can and must bring to bear on the great struggle of our time - the health of humans, of ecosystems, ultimately the health of the planet itself.Today most conservation projects in the world are using 'Health and Wellbeing' as their central driving concept. The opportunity - and need - for cross-disciplinary guidance from the medical community is greater than it has ever been.I have worked with patients, with health systems, with insurers, with governments. I am an author, a speaker, a social entrepreneur and a clinician. I work with medical organizations and conservation organizations. My career has become focused on this interaction of Health and Conservation. My work is people, my focus is planet.
