Currently working at Arup as a graduate sustainability consultant helping clients to meet their net zero targets, make their spaces more inclusive and regenerate the environment through sustainable engineering design.MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development at University of Cambridge (Magdalene College)BSc. Eng. Mechanical Engineering Graduate - First Class Honours from the University of Cape Town.Simon spent 2021 at Axium Education as the head physical science teacher. The programme offers extra tutoring and lessons to rural schools in the Eastern Cape. This teaching centres around Maths and Science for mostly High School learners who typically struggle with these subject areas.Simon's undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering have pushed him to achieve academic success, for which he takes great pride. His degree has equipped him with strong problem solving skills and a diligent work ethic. He hopes to use his engineering skills to bring about positive social change.Simon has taken a keen interest in Impact Investing, ESG and making more sustainable investing practices more accessible. He is a member of Effective Altruism Cambridge and uses these ideologies to guide his investment choices.
