Staff: 85 artistic & 15 admin staff.Budget management: £2.5 millionKey responsibilities: - Lead and develop the strategic aims of the service, implementing and overseeing delivery of the development plan. - Improve standards, engagement and inclusion through partnership building, strategic development, needs and data analysis.- Lead change and innovation programmes.- Manage day to day operational activities; HR (recruitment and selection, safeguarding lead, compliance), fundraising and marketing plans (including digital media)- Ensuring robust financial management and operational efficiency. - Line manage the senior management team, ensuring key outcomes are achieved. - Manage and expand stakeholder relationships.- Ensuring business and education policies are up to date and monitored. - Representing the service at local, regional and national forums. - Leading on workforce development and building a learning organisation.Key achievements: - Expanded partnership activity by over 200% after one year in post, introducing new activities with nationally recognised partners. - Led a cultural transformation programme, built on creative methodology. - Led a change programme to bring the business plan in line with customer demand- Reversed a 6-year, 45% decline in customer numbers into a 10% increase after 9 months in post. - Established the strategic marketing and fundraising plans for the service, bringing in new revenue streams. - Identified and delivered significant operating costs savings and brought about a culture change towards efficiency and robust attitudes towards compliance. - Developed a Mental Health & Wellbeing programme and a county-wide market research programme.

Responsible for the overall leadership and management of all aspects of the music education service for Buckinghamshire. Staff: 100 artistic and admin staff.Budget management: approx. £4.5 million.Key responsibilities: - To lead and implement a new vision for a music service following a staff restructure, implement new business processes, revitalising and invigorating all aspects of the business, strategy and culture. - Leading the change and innovation programme for staff and customers.- Building progressive and sustainable relationships with key local, regional and national stakeholders. - Liaising and negotiating with local authority councillors and politicians. - Responsible for operations, HR, safeguarding and business innovation.- Overall leadership & management of the service, ensuring high standards in financial and operating processes. - Working with the Executive to modernise, expand and improve the service. - Leading the Music Education Hub, line managing the senior team and contributing to wider Trust aims regarding high standards, improvement and attainment. - Representative for the South-East England region for Music Mark and member of the Arts Council England data steering group. Responsible for the overall strategic and operational leadership and management of all aspects of the music and arts education service for the most diverse community outside London. Staff: 30 artistic and admin staff.Budget management: approx. £0.5 million.Responsibilities: - Relaunch the music service for the borough. - Responsible for building all aspects of the business including developing and instigating the vision and strategic plan for a music service in a challenging community. - Responsible for delivering the service plan, developing and maintaining the business/administrative infrastructure, HR, IT and database, quality assurance, financial management and procedures, pedagogic frameworks and compliance with statutory legal requirements. - Building relationships with schools, pupils and parents and building a nationwide network of education partners.Key achievements: - Increased revenue by 200% in two years, including initiating strategies for fundraising, grant-funded programmes and beginning a traded services strand. - Revitalising the borough’s ethos towards music education. - Shortlisted for 3 national music education awards and highly commended by the National Education Council awards.

Responsible for the leadership and management of the Thames Gateway region in the music service for Kent. Main duties include:- Leadership of team of 70 teachers, management of 3 music centres, project development and management, customer service with schools and stakeholders. - Member of the senior leadership team of the wider music service, including CPD leadership and delivery, youth orchestra and residential course tutor, marketing and promotion of services.

Upper strings teacher, ensemble conductor and leader of the upper strings teaching team for Croydon Music Service. Quality assurance of the upper strings teaching team of around 15 teachers, leading ensembles and contributing to the leadership team. Co-author of the service’s wider opportunities programme ‘SoundStart’.
