This includes: - Development of technical skills and tactical awareness through both full squad and regional sessions that are thoroughly planned. - Regularly providing concise, informative group and individual feedback to players - Specific coaching and development for Goalkeepers.- Physical development through a periodised strength and conditioning program.- Development of players analytical and reflective skills through video analysis tasks and the development of a reflective diary. - Team building opportunities both on pitch and away from the hockey pitch.- Opportunities for staff to take ownership of their areas of expertise and the freedom to add as much value to the program as possible. - Interaction with U18 and U21 coaches to align ideas. - Working within a self-funded budget thus striving to develop a calendar that allows maximum player development and challenge for minimal cost to parents.- Helping players with the introduction to the demands of international hockey and the management of those demands. - Encouraging players to make positive choices in relation to nutrition, hydration and recovery and taking ownership for these choices. The use of a Google Drive to give players access to relevant materials in their own time is an innovative way we have found helps players engage in the process outside of contact time. One of the core elements of this program is trying to empower players to take control of their own learning and to provide them with tools that they can use in their future careers as they strive to become top players at senior level.
