Task/Achievements:I managed a team of twelve personnel including maintenance engineers, reliability engineers and condition monitoring technicians. A sample of key team achievements include:- Implementation of best practice transfer design in response to the requirement to process increasing volumes of problematic ore. This strategic introduction of new transfer technology has significantly reduced related operating delays. This has enabled the processing plant to maintain its capacity and continue to achieve processing targets.- Hope Downs South capacity upgrade (2400tph – 3300tph). This opportunity was identified and implemented by my team. This upgrade enabled optimum blending ratios to be achieved between the North and South feeds.- An alternative train loading system capable of 5500tph was identified, procured, modified, and installed by my team in response to a sudden reclaimer slew bearing failure. This system was implemented in less than 3 weeks enabling the loading of 17 trains during the reclaimer outage. This project won the 2012 Rio Tinto Iron Ore improvement award.- Train load-out optimisation which involved the in-house design of new clam sequencing, loading control and elimination of speed signal dependence which has succeeded in maximising wagon loaded weights.- Implementation of data driven decision making based on the utilisation of the operational historian database, SAP and Ampla downtime systems.

A new holdback in the form of a low speed brake unit was adapted to satisfy conveyor limitations providing an innovative solution. - Bag House Dust Agglomeration Project – Manage the feasibility, procurement, installation and commissioning of equipment to be utilised to agglomerate concentrated dust product before the reintroduction to the fines product belt.- Stacker Boom Conveyor Gearbox Pressure Feed Project – Design and implementation of a shaft driven pressure fed lubrication system to extend life through a reduction of operating temperature and oil aeration.
