Simon Madigan is an Australian designer, researcher and writer, based in London, UK. He has worked as a designer in consultancies in the United Kingdom, Australia and Ireland working across design practice within the fields of landscape, urbanism, technology and strategy - with a particular focus on the design and application of nature-based systems for urban climate resilience. Simon has studied at Harvard University, University College Dublin and Weihenstephan Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences. He received his Bachelor of Science with first class honours in 2012 from University College Dublin, Ireland with studies in landscape and regional planning at Weihenstephan Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, Germany and has studied landscape architecture at postgraduate-level at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. Simon holds a certificate in Design, Disasters and Ecosystem Resilience. He has been a recipient of The Peter Rice Scholarship, Harvard University, The Deans Merit Scholarship, Harvard University and The President’s Scholarship, University College Dublin.Simon has authored and co-authored projects on nature based adaptation for climate resilience including; ‘Prototyping Land Retreat: A Cape Cod Case Study’, Harvard University, 2014 and ‘A Natural Defence of the Shoreline Utilizing Marine Bivalve Molluscs’, University College Dublin, 2012.
