Increased the Conservative vote share in Britain’s most marginal seat from 32.7% in 2010, to 42.3% in 2015. Launching ground-breaking campaigns on HS2 and local environmental issues. Target seat leader in data gathering, volunteer recruitment and voting intentions.

Conservative Councillor, Hampstead Town Ward. Carried out casework, supported local business and sat on the Out of Hours Scrutiny Panel for 111 services. This was set up following the death of a child in out of hours care. Our final report recommended a sustainable framework where not-for-profit service providers could compete on a level playing field when tendering for NHS contracts, prioritising quality over price.

Advised the Department of Education, Greater London Authority and New Schools Network at various times with regard to aspects of education policy, particularly special schools. Also advised think tanks such as Centre for Social Justice, Policy Exchange and Civitas.

Appointed by Prime Minister David Cameron to the Independent Riots Communities and Victims Panel, set up to examine the causes and solutions to the England Riots of August 2011. The Panel’s final report was published in March 2012.

Member of the Centre for Social Justice Sports Working Group. The final report - More Than a Game - called for increased use of sport to help disadvantaged young people. It also argued for increased local investment in sport following the 2012 Olympics.

The Boxing Academy is an award-winning education charity founded by myself and Chris Hall in 2006. I evolved the highly successful Boxing Academy Model designed to reintegrate excluded teenagers through boxing and other sports. In 2009 we reached 40 students and expanded to our second site at Hackney Grove which I established in 2010. We returned 90% of our students, many of whom were youth offenders, to education, training or employment.

Barking was the main target seat for the British National Party and billed as a two-way fight between BNP and Labour. The Conservatives came second, beating BNP leader, Nick Griffin, into third place. I re-built the local Conservative association and ran all aspects of the local campaign under heavy media scrutiny.
