The Bill Toft Memorial Fund & The Bill Toft Awards are named for New Zealand radio and television broadcaster the late Bill Toft. The awards are open to broadcasters working in online and broadcasting media and provide a grant of up to $4,000. The grant is for the purpose of encouraging excellence in broadcasting in New Zealand.

The Hutt Minoh House Friendship Trust was established for charitable purposes to develop and provide Japanese education and cultural awareness.¬The Trust supports programmes and activities that will benefit and contribute to growing good relationships between the people of the greater Wellington region and their Japanese sister cities Minoh City (Hutt City), Nishio City (Porirua), and Sakai City (Wellington).

To be invited to work with the Sallies was very special. The Red Shield Appeal is one of the two major fund raising activities run by the SA and together with another Wellingtonian Phillip Meyer we helped guide the team of officers to bring together a number of events. I was very proud to see the growing response to the Red Shield Appeal through developing a corporate network of support. Both Phillip and I were stunned and humbled to receive a Sallies citation "In recognition of commitment and outstanding service".

Wellington Zoo has a board of five - six directors appointed as trustees responsible for the governance, policy and strategic direction of the organisation.Wellington Zoo has been acclaimed by its peers and the public alike as one of the "Best Little Zoos in the World". Its steady development in the quality and variety of exhibits, its focus on conservation and its ability to relate to its visitors are highly valued by business and NFP organisations alike.

Some years before we became part of this organisation I was guest speaker at the associations annual conference, It was such a moving experience, mothers and fathers ragged with stress and tiredness in trying to do the best for their children. There was little awareness or understanding of the disorder by the public and minimal support from Central Government. Things needed to change.I was asked if I could help, then one of our children was diagnosed as being on the Autism spectrum. to help. The organisation then was The Autism Association of NZ, managed and run by a wonderful and dedicated group of volunteers so open to ideas. Together we developed a strategic plan, a name change to Autism New Zealand, a national publicity campaign with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gratis airtime from radio and television networks. The most important element was to move the base of Autism NZ to Wellington where it is today connecting directly with politicians and public servants in the health, disability and education sectors.
