Have 30+ years’ experience in electrical, control and instrument design with heavy industrial experience. Knowledgeable of the complexities of industrial design, and have excellent design capabilities in a broad range of industries. Experienced in leading design efforts, function as part of a project design team consisting of other engineers, designers and construction contractors.My job responsibility is to serve as Project Lead for single- and multi-discipline projects by preparing accurate hour estimates, maintain design schedules, develop scope of work, select, recommend and prepare preliminary design concepts, coordinate design by identifying and selecting candidates for electrical design positions, make staffing recommendations, and check drawings. Perform initial field survey to determine optimum equipment and tie-ins to existing facilities and facility operations. Obtain pertinent project information, make studies, and prepare rough layouts and sketches to present design proposal. Provide a full range of drawing production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations. Participate in inter-discipline checks and interact with other departments, suppliers and contractors. Generate design and detail construction quality drawings from engineering sketches and field notes. Manage and maintain project documentation.Design areas of exposure have been in power distribution, controls and instrumentation. Experience in developing one-line diagrams ranging from 480V up to 15KV, MCC elevations, motor circuit diagrams, interconnections for various types of electrical equipment, conduit and cable schedules, PDC building & substation design, PLC & DCS system layouts and wiring, loop drawings, cable tray design, area classification, conduit routing, grounding, lighting and instrument location plans, switch rack design, panel board schedules, UPS, heat trace, marshaling and junction box layout and wiring, and communication network drawings.
