As a backend developer, I design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs that support the company’s web and mobile applications.I have helped in moving the company’s systems from .NET Framework to .NET Core. I have helped the company use Timescale DB to reduce data storage costs and reduce query execution time on PostgreSQL. As backend developer, I collaborate closely with the frontend and mobile developers to offer end to end solutions to customer requests. I help identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in backend systems to ensure optimal application speed and responsiveness.I help maintain and update a GraphQL API used by both mobile and web apps. I work closely with project managers and client support to ensure our software solutions are well tailored to the client’s dynamic needs.

Led a team that supported a mobile banking system, available on Android and iOS, for a top bank in Kenya, integrating with the core banking system, MPESA, PESALINK, KRA, and other third-party APIs.Designed and developed a .NET Core Application that integrated biometric devices and the Dayforce API to facilitate employee attendance and payroll processing for a client with over 10,000 employees in more than 70 branches. Here, I made use of Hosted Background Services to ensure data syncing across the devices did not affect downloading real-time employee punches.Led a team that designed the infrastructure and developed a cheque processing system that receives encrypted customer files from most of the top banks in East Africa through an SFTP server, decrypts the file, and processes the job, making it ready for printing. This helped meet customer SLAs and reduced manual intervention in cheque processing.Helped in setting up email and SMS alerts to monitor the health of a Bulk SMS dispatching application to achieve 100% uptime and eliminate customer complaints.Facilitated client meetings to thoroughly grasp user stories, fostering a comprehensive understanding of client requirements and translated these insights into well-crafted solution designs.
