I began my insurance career in 1989 within the oil and gas division of a global broker, Upstream Energy. After near 20 years of co-coordinating and marketing large upstream accounts, I decided to do it for myself and set-up the independent specialist insurance and risk management business, Alesco in 2008. As CEO of Alesco I oversaw the 900-strong team of insurance experts providing specialist risk and insurance solutions in areas that include energy, construction, property & casualty, aviation, marine & cargo, crisis management and financial risks. In 2014 Alesco became part of Gallagher. I continued in my role and in 2018 I was appointed CEO of Gallagher UK’s broking and underwriting operations which includes four divisions: UK Retail, Specialty & Wholesale, Pen Underwriting and Capsicum Re. In 2021 I expanded my role and became CEO of Europe, Middle East & Asia.At Gallagher we help individuals and organisations face their future with confidence through the provision of global insurance, risk management and consulting expertise; offering client service capabilities in more than 150 countries around the world.The business employs 5000 people in the UK, operates a network of regional offices and a significant part of the global Gallagher group.
