The Marketing Director role was created when I joined the board of directors in January 2023. As Marple Golf Club is a member run club, the role is voluntary and I manage this role in my spare time away from my director role at Sammon Media. Before accepting the role, I knew the club logo/crest was in need of modernising to attract more corporate golf days and sponsorship, I set this as a priority.My first year saw the emergence of a new logo/crest - this was a lengthy process but backed by the board we proposed several logos to the membership and then took the best three designs to a vote. As a result, we now have a modern looking logo/crest which has been a real hit with the membership. Our club professional has never sold so many crested tops and polo shirts.This new crest then enabled me to attract Manchester City Football Club Former Players Association and the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester to hold their golf days at Marple. These are now annual occasions for both and they are getting bigger, brighter and better every year.In 2024 I went externally to attract sponsorship for the golf club, I developed a package which resulted in attracting a muti-million pound company called McCarthy Stone to sign up for a three year deal to sponsor the golf club. I tailored a package that suited McCarthy Stone and the deal has resulted in a five figure sum for the golf club. As Marple Golf Club is the perfect demographic for McCarthy Stone, they are now looking to broaden this strategy to other areas of the UK.

I joined The Auto Network (TAN) as Head of Content. That role consists of heading up askaprice.com, oneswoop.com and TAN's flagship motoring magazine, MotorTorque.com. As editor of MotorTorque, I alongside my team relaunched the site into one of the best looking motoring sites in the UK. Two months later, we followed the site relaunch by producing the first ever offline issue of MotorTorque. We distributed 30,000 copies to commuters in London as a 'Freemium' product. These were distributed in designated hot spots that tallied with our research and reader base for the magazine.

I managed the road test department and subbed all copy that was submitted by the rest of the team with regards to new cars. I booked cars in and kept the long-term fleet updated. I used Twitter as a tool to get my 1,000 plus followers interested in and talking about the Parkers brand as a quick and easy of getting people to interact with the brand. I tweeted on car reviews and news stories. I also took pictures of test cars and interact edwith fellow ‘Twits’ about motoring topics and gave out car advice. I measured the relevance of my tweets through the application called Klout.Setting up the Parkers Facebook page was an important step for Parkers, as we wanted to broaden our digital scope. With over 1,000 ‘likes’ we kept our fans entertained by giving them competitions including, guess the car?

Worked on Britain’s best selling car weekly for two years. My duties included writing news stories, road tests, first drives and product reviews. Not only did I drive cars I also tested products. My duties included writing news stories and feature articles to tight deadlines using Microsoft Word and on page using QuarkXPress. I also attended news conferences and car launches representing the magazines above.
