Just when I thought I had been there and done that within my industry I started fitting B and Q showrooms throughout Britain and Eire. I went from being a 2 man team fitting 1 kitchen every week , to having a team of guys working for me , fitting 30 kitchens every 3 weeks .After hitting the ground running , this aspect of my time fitting kitchens became the most satisfying of all , the ever changing deadlines , the ever increasing speed needed to achieve these deadlines , the managing of other guys , along with training up our next generation of fitters , all became second nature to me and I really enjoyed every challenge thrown at meAfter a quiet period last year , hopefully the year ahead will be more productive for My Firm , along with Target Shopfitters and B and Q . The colleagues I have made since my time fitting the showrooms have been some of the most professional and cooperative you could hope to meet .I think anyone who can excel in this environment has to be at the top of their game , as it is not like any other I have ever experienced within the Building Industry .

Kitchen Consultants , who were based in West Wickham Kent, were a top end company who mainly supplied kitchens to Berkeley Homes on their projects in London. The guy who ran it , Dave Roberts , was probably the most professional man I have encountered within my industry and has forgotten more than most of His contempories will ever know.I enjoyed my time there , fitting quality German , French and Italian kitchens at sites in Clerkenwell . Battersea , Wapping , Bermondsey and a job I ran from start to finish on the south bank , Benbow House .I left , foolishly , to work at the home of my beloved Chelsea , fitting out the executive boxes , for a firm called Zeyko kitchens from Islington . Dave Roberts told me they were messers but I left anyway only to find out they were complete shysters and never got as far as the turnstyles.You live and learn , and unbelievably Kitchen Consultants have gone , due to inferior firms undercutting them , amd so there really is no justice in the world.

London And The South East

Inca were from Ashford in Kent and fitted some top end contracts throughout London .I started working for them at a hotel and appartment contract they had in Maida Vale , although I believe it was actually Kilburn High Road , but the owners did not want that ,as the hotels address.My main contract with them was the Managing and Installation of kitchens on a fantastic , and award winning , Refurbishment of the old Head Office of the London Water Board called New River Head in Clerkenwell. The job was for Berkeley Homes but they had contracted out the entire thing to Costains , who were a professional outfit with some great guys .

South Of England

I started fitting kitchens with my Father , working on Retail Installations and mainly on Charles Church construction sites , and after He emigrated to Canada in 1987 , I took on the role of managing sites on my own , at Stubbington , Forest Hill , Ash , and numerous others.My time at Countys was a very positive one where I learnt my trade within a professional Company with a good product.During the recession of the early 1990.s ., the firm lost a lot of contracts and with my connections at Charles Church was approached by other kitchen firms to take on the managing and installation of their product in an enviroment I was very familiar with.
