Simon is a senior corporate lawyer with more than 35 years experience. He is admitted to practice under the laws of Hong Kong and England, as well as the State of Victoria Australia.In private practice he advised on all aspects of corporate law and major transactions with an emphasis on capital market transactions and corporate governance issues. He practised in Hong Kong for close to a decade and has extensive experience in cross border transactions including inbound and outbound investment from the People's Republic of China. Major transactions where he was lead counsel included advisingFoster's Group Limited on the spin off of the ALH hotel business by dual initial public offers with a total value of AUD$1.4 billion; advised AV Jennings Limited on the sale of its contract builing business to a Japanese public company; and advised the board of BrisConnections an Australian listed trust on governance aspects of a much publicised dispute with minority holders.
