• I am the research coordinator of the School of Psychological and Clinical Sciences• I lecture in applied psychology and neuro psychology, often using magic tricks to demonstrate principles• My research relates to the psychosocial and political determinants of mental health and productivity.

I am one of the chief investigators of three large ARC and NHMRC research projects. In particular:• The first project relates to the determinants of terrorism in Australia. The budget of this project is approximately $2 950 446. My work revolves around how all policies and practices, from taxation law to roadsigns, can affect the prevalence of crime and terrorism.• The second project relates to the workplace policies and practices that create a progressive culture. The budget of this project is approximately $240 000 and shows how many practices that are supposed to facilitate change inadvertently evoke resistance. • The third project relates to dementia. My research and theories show that societal and workplace policies can also affect the prevalence of dementia, depression, and many other psychological difficulties--although further research is warranted.

I apply my academic work to improve the wellbeing and performance of employees and managers. In particular: • I have developed and implemented a methodology that solves a variety of workplace issues simultaneously. This methodology enhances engagement, innovation, safety, wellbeing, resilience, development, teamwork, integrity, tolerance, efficiency, and decision making at the same time. • I have also developed an instrument that assesses all the traits that job applicants attempt to conceal--such as the extent to which they are unmotivated, reckless, unsupportive, unstable, prejudiced, and dishonest. • I have applied these methodologies to a broad range of clients over many years, including ANZ, Southern Health, Eastern Health, VECCI, SES, ADF, NAB, Alcoa, and Telstra. I have also imparted these insights to many consultancies, including KPMG, Career Capital, People Measures, and HCMS.

• I published books and papers on a range of topics in psychology, including leadership, cooperation, emotions, integrity, and cognition. • I have primarily taught in the area of statistical and mathematical analysis as well as organizational psychology. I supervised about 100 PhD, Doctoral, Masters, Honours, and Postgrad Dip students. • I funded and coordinated Top of Mind and the Australian Honesty Forum, both of which applied surprising and counterintuitive scientific findings to resolve social issues.

• I conducted surveys to assess the culture and practices of organizations as well as the qualities of individuals • I developed actions plans and recommendations from these assessments, derived from past research• I also undertook research to improve the recruitment of individuals into the Australian Defence Force
