Simon Rowlands was a Co-founding partner of the private equity firm Cinven where he worked for over 22 years until 2017. Simon led a wide range of healthcare as well as other sector transactions, building strong companies enabling them to thrive beyond Cinven’s exit. Simon founded a new private equity firm in 2016, Africa Platforms Capital, focused on healthcare and disruptive technology in Africa. Prior to joining Cinven, he worked with an international consulting firm on multidisciplinary engineering projects in the UK and southern Africa. Simon also has governance experience in the not-for-profit sector, he co-founded the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust in Zimbabwe, active at the interface of human and wildlife conflict. He graduated with an MBA from Cranfield in 1986, before moving from engineering into finance. Simon is Chairman of the Cranfield School of Management Advisory Board and was elected to the Cranfield University Council in 2019, he received an Honorary Doctorate in 2019 for his work shaping UK business.
