It's just me getting the word out there to people who do their best not to listen, but I do like a challenge. I also write on a freelance basis for Vive Le Rock, UK Rock N Roll & Racing Ahead magazine. I was also a contributor to Big Cheese from 2002-2016 - RIP. My on-line racing blogs have proven popular since I started writing them regularly in 2013. I have also been following a personal passion tracking down and interviewing 1950s rockabilly artists. I have talked to Duane Eddy, Carl Mann, Narvel Felts, WS Holland, JM Van Eaton, Bobby Crafford, Martin Willis, Sonny Burgess, Billy Weir, Kern Kennedy. I am currently involved in hopefully ensuring some recently unearthed Tooter Boatman tracks see the light of day. I have written sleeve notes for various releases including several of the Cherry Red/Anagram Psychobilly reissue program. I have also interviewed contemporary artists - most recently Brian Setzer, Imelda May, Alex Orbison and the likes of Alkaline Trio, all published. Internationally I have written features on The Living End for The Drum & Brag in Australia. Recently delighted to have been asked to write a feature on the early days of The Meteors . My most recent feature for Vive Le Rock was an interview with all three Stray Cats which was the cover story as well as a separate feature on The Polecats in the same issue, all to a very positive response from Vive Le Rock readers. I have written on horse racing, predominantly betting, on a freelance basis since 1996. My first publication was a short-lived 'zine entitled 'Final Furlong'. I wrote for the local Mid Devon Gazette covering the local meetings Exeter/Newton Abbot/Taunton/ Wincanton during the 1990. In the early 2000's I started writing 'Tales From The Betting Ring' for Racing Ahead Magazine from issue #2 and continue to do so, now on #147. My content is sourced direct from the Star Sports pitch at the biggest meetings of the year, Cheltenham, Aintree, Epsom, Ascot, Royal Ascot & Glorious Goodwood where they are renowned for taking some of the biggest bets in the industry. My position involved collating and sending information from the racecourse to the betting industry off course. This included passing live betting shows and starting prices, liaising alongside live Channel 4 Racing broadcasts and collecting wagers of note from racecourse bookmakers for publication in the racing press.

I worked with various racecourse bookmakers over a 19 year period. Firstly as a floorman - tic-tac learned, then a clerk with book and pencil - finally at front of house taking the bets and dealing with customers. I was working on-course when huge upheaval occurred from a system that had not really moved on in a century kicking and screaming from the 19th to 21st century in a few short years. Personal highlight for me was working the #1 pitch at Royal Ascot front out house with Jack Bevan and Co in 2005 and 2006 (pick 3 chose #1 spot). Final day working on-course with a bookmaker was at Wincanton for Ivor Perry in 2008 for whom I was a regular since 2001. I'm now involved with on-course betting media. Show less

I did a course in Art and Design part time in 1995 to 1996. In a class of 16 year olds I managed a distinction. I was recommended.
