    Swindon, Wiltshire, Gb
Worked as part of the process engineering team reporting to the Technical Director designingproprietary energy from waste (EfW) processes using plasma and gasification technology(GasPlasma). Involved in the design of an innovative new BioSNG process to convert waste (RDF/biomass etc) into methane gas for injection into the national gas grid, or for use as road fuel in the form of compressed biomethane (CBM). The BioSNG process uses catalytic methanation at its heart along with water-gas shift (WGS) reactors, and a series of clean-up processes including pressure swing adsorption (PSA). • Designed fluid bed gasification processes for syngas production, hydroprocessing units and plasma technology for tar conversion, gas clean-up processes and power generation systems.• Designed methanation process for synthetic natural gas production (BioSNG process).Thisincluded modelling and designing methanation, steam methane reforming, amine scrubbing, water gas shift (WGS) reactors, pressure swing adsoption (PSA) and sulphur recovery units using Aspen+ software.• Lead individual projects developing necessary work plans, timelines, plant economics, costestimates and reports. • Developed full plant scale models of GasPlasma and BioSNG processes using Aspen+proprietary process modelling software.• Prepared mass and energy balances for the GasPlasma and BioSNG processes. This includeddevelopment and validation of process flow calculations including pressure, temperature and flow throughout the process units.• Plant operational experience running GasPlasma and BioSNG processes. I was party to the commissioning and optimisation of a unique pilot scale rig for the study of palladium-hydride reactions occurring in a packed bed reactor.I completed a thorough experimental plan involving investigating the process over wide ranges of temperature and pressure. Alongside experimentation I developed dynamic multidimensional models of the process using FEA software COMSOL Multiphysics and MATLAB. I used these models to elucidate the reaction kinetics, influence of the Pd surface and the reaction mechanisms. As part of my PhD I completed a 3 month internship at my industrial sponsors working as a process engineer. I worked on the development of gas storage, transfer and separation processes. I have also tutored numerous undergraduate students during my PhD. The modules I have tutored are: Advanced Chemical Engineering; Process Dynamics and Control; Separation Processes; Mass and Energy Balances; Advanced Mathematical Modelling.Experience:COMSOL MultiphysicsMATLABCommissioning Equipment selection Gas safetyHydrogen gas detectionChemical Engineering tutoring
