This project aggregates election results at the constituency level for upper house, lower house, and presidential elections around the world. My role consists of cleaning large amounts of election data from around the globe for public access and code development for nationalization measures. Most of this role is focused on developing nationalization scripts, a quantitative means to check effectiveness of representation and democracy at-large. Skills from this position include handling large amounts of data, debugging/developing scripts in R , and effectively communicating with a large team on collaborative research.

This project was focused on researching global cybersecurity capabilities for every country in the world, where the end goal was to create a quantitative measure to compare cyber capability for future scholarship. My role consisted of cybersecurity policy research in Latin American and Eastern European countries, where we created a database to describe cyber capability. Most of this role involved web scraping cybersecurity information from official government websites and development of surveys to gauge if the public understands cybersecurity threats at a base level. Skills developed here include large dataset building, development of public opinion surveys, effective communication skills on a large research team, and researching an underdeveloped topic in social science.

This project aimed to update social science literature that claimed the Democratic party is electorally advantaged when unemployment is high. This research replicated and updated the scholarship to include the Obama Administration and first year of the Trump Administration. In my role, I collected large amounts of US election data, cleaned said data for analysis, and recreated visualizations in the existing scholarship. Most of this role consisted of recreating exact visualizations in R . Skills developed include data management and visualization, effective problem solving to exactly recreate old political science research, strong communication skills when working on a team, and data manipulation and visualization in R .

In this role, I worked with a large team of field interns in the Lansing Headquarters to get Gretchen Whitmer elected as the Governor of Michigan. In this role, I made thousands of phone calls for volunteer events, coordinated locations to train volunteers to collect petition signatures, knocked on hundreds of doors to bolster support (most in the Upper Peninsula, MI), and worked closely with the economics team to bolster grassroots fundraising efforts. This role mostly involved volunteer training sessions, where I co-lead training for petition signature collection. Skills developed here include effective communication with both a large team and directly with voters, strong leadership skills in volunteer training sessions, working well under pressure, and scheduling events with other field interns to bolster campaign support.
