Referrals are received from specialist consultants and these include post-op orthopaedic ACL knee reconstructions and hip periarticular osteotomies, patients presenting with hypermobility syndrome, and chronic conditions such as inflammatory arthritis and chronic back pain. I also ran a back stability class, a back reactivation class and a lower limb exercise class.

Based in a London Health Centre I managed a busy caseload of NHS musculoskeletal patients. Patient presentations were varied and included acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions in addition to orthopaedic referrals. I felt this role facilitated me to develop competent skills in creating patient centered rehabilitation. This was achieved through the use of effective patient communication, exercise prescription and education, in addition to manual therapy. Evidenced based research was used to enhance patient understanding of their condition and to ensure appropriate treatment plans were being implemented. Patient notes recording was done on a computer, which enabled regular evidence based research use. Formal in-service trainings were attended with the team every two months, in addition to fortnightly team meetings, where patient case discussions and continuing professional development talks were given.
