Since taking on the role of CEO of Fire Security Services in 2017, I have led a team of 240 hardworking, dedicated and qualified professionals, providing clients throughout New Zealand with fire services, products and training. An approachable and collaborative CEO, I regularly meet with our staff across New Zealand and encourage our team to try things out, generate ideas and innovate to ensure that we are the safest, most customer-centric supplier in the market. Reporting to the Board, I have an instrumental role in developing and delivering the long-term strategy of the organisation, providing a sustainable framework to both promote and respond to growth in the market. I have been key in leading the team through significant change, recruiting new staff and embedding processes that have ensured the delivery of industry-best fire services, products and training. To support the organisation’s transformation I have implemented a new software package, to enhance the operations of the business in addition to increasing efficiency and visibility across everything we do. The positive impact on our clients has meant that we are able to give customers real-time visibility over their fire protection status, quickly address issues and ensure that customers are up to building and fire service standards.

National

Starting with Fire Security Services under new ownership, leadership and a new Board, I commenced in the role of General Manager – Sales and Marketing, with the goal of deploying a customer-centric commercial strategy to deliver value to our existing customer portfolio, in addition to growing the customer base across New Zealand. A key part of this role has been creating a high-energy culture focused on delivering outstanding service that exceeds international best-practice standards and has consistently secured positive feedback from our clients. I have ensured that our people are the best in the business, by providing stability through a period of significant change for the organisation, finding the right staff to support service delivery and driving a focus on growing and extending our capability at all times.Recruiting an entirely new sales team and creating sales processes and systems that deliver results, I was able to secure new clients bringing in an excess of $1M per annum. I have also been instrumental in the rebrand of the organisation, launching the new website and creating a value proposition that holds true for our staff and customers alike.

Tauranga

As Regional Manager for NZME, leading strategy across the region to respond to a changing market dynamic that saw the merging of radio and publishing into one business, I was instrumental in developing successful sales pitches that delivered results and expanded the customer portfolio. I led a team of 11, empowering staff to extend their capability that resulted in the achievement of multiple awards and accolades including promotion, national industry and internal sales achiever awards. I had responsibility for all functions for the business throughout the region including strategic development, operations, financial management, HR, change leadership, sales and marketing and customer service.

A key member of the sales leadership and regional leadership teams for Auckland and Central North Island, I was instrumental in driving the commercial sales strategy for the Bay of Plenty and Waikato branches. I led and motivated two sales teams with 8 direct reports, embedding an environment where high productivity and performance was recognised and rewarded and where customer experience was at the forefront of everything we did. Through strong, collaborative leadership and the development of innovative sales strategy, I was able to lift financial performance to achieve the top-performing sales team in New Zealand, contributing over 40% of company annual revenue.

As Business Development and Account Manager for high-value domestic and export customers in the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Auckland, my role was to identify opportunities across the portfolio to successfully achieve revenue targets.
