I am Simon Phipps, an experienced entrepreneur with a track record of significant contributions across various industries. My journey can be divided into three distinct periods of notable achievements.From 1984 to 1995, I honed my business acumen and salesmanship skills while working in multiple countries. Notably, I successfully established publishing and sales and marketing companies in Portugal and South Africa.In 1995, I entered the utility and renewable sector by founding Tialoc Ltd, an energy and environmental consultancy. Our specialization in energy efficiency and tariff analysis allowed us to oversee energy management for over 2,000 buildings in the UK by 2000.As the utility market experienced further deregulation, I saw an opportunity and established Dragon Infrastructure Solutions. This consultancy became renowned in London for designing and procuring utility infrastructures for major developments. We obtained Lloyds accreditation for constructing adoptable electricity assets.I also played a crucial role in shaping the renewable energy landscape. I became a board member of the British Photovoltaic Association and actively engaged in negotiations with the Department of Energy and Climate Change. Through Dragon Infrastructure Solutions, we facilitated the connection of over 500 residential, industrial and commercial developments as well as over 90 solar and wind farms in the UK.Following the reduction in renewable energy subsidies, I founded Utility Distribution Networks (UDN), a public utility company licensed as an independent distribution network operator. UDN achieved 12,000 connections in its first year and was later sold in 2017.Resurrecting the Tialoc brand, I returned to my role as a utility consultant. However, my true passion lies in mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals, drawing from my experience of starting, growing, and exiting three successful companies.Today, I continue to inspire and support others with my extensive knowledge and entrepreneurial journey.
