About Simon Pickering

Simon Pickering is now Head of Insurance and Pensions, within the Finance IOM agency at the Department for Enterprise (DFE). DFE is the promotional arm of the Isle of Man Government and covers over 20 different sectors. Simon first joined the Department in 2014 following a career spanning 29 years in the financial services sector, having worked in numerous senior positions, including Managing Director of MBL Financial Services.Having previously worked in Banking, Insurance and Financial Advisory sectors, and with a breadth of experience in the Island’s key financial services sectors, working specifically on organic development as part of his role at the Department. Simon’s strong industry connections and extensive experience has seen him introduce large scale strategies, including the delivery of the Isle of Man’s Alternative Banking Regime.He is now covering the Middle east region also, with particular emphasis on the UAE where the isle of Man has a strong foothold in the Life and Wealth management sector.
