Simon supports his clients through the delivery of actionable operational intelligence, cost benefit analysis and operational concept development expertise. Through the use of numerical modelling, predictive analytics (incl. machine learning) and fast time simulations, he provides robust strategic investment and tactical planning advice.

Simon transformed the Airside Operational Intelligence function to become a productive unit, empowered to drive strategic and tactical performance improvements through data and engaging visualisations. In this role, Simon:• Embedded an SQL database and business intelligence suite (Power BI) to promote ‘self-service analytics’ across the business;• Delivered consultant grade analysis and recommendations to senior levels of the business – particularly in the area of ATM investment cost benefit and airside operational impact assessments;• Led and coached a high performing team of analysts to become more operationally focussed;• Engaged with airlines and ground handlers to tactically intercept poor performance, which was automatically flagged by operational dashboards developed within the team.

Simon developed his own business and worked in a consultative capacity with ANSP and airport stakeholders to deliver expert operational analysis or strategic insight. His experience spans both the Airport and ANSP domains – most notable projects (and roles) include:• ATM Operational Impact Assessments using bespoke simulation models;• European Airport-CDM Impact Assessment (19 A-CDM Certified airports);• Advanced ATC Tower Concept Development & Economic Analysis (EMOSIA based);• Airspace Design Validation Strategy & Analysis Consultant;• Developer of a new ADS-B Flight Tracking application

In this role, Simon led the Aviation team of IT and business strategy advisors. We delivered business consultancy and managed both operational and technical requirements of all Rockshore’s Aviation products. Specific assignments included:• Responsible for leading the technical implementation of the A-CDM Information System at Rome FCO;• Provided Airport CDM GAP analysis and CBA reporting for Rockshore’s Airport customers;• Spearheaded all Aviation Product requirements at Rockshore;• Requirements Engineer for new real time information system deployments across the aviation sector, developed in close consultation with Airport stakeholders.

Within 3 months of joining Think, Simon was given sole ownership over the preliminary design and development of the RECALL ATM analysis and simulation tool. This product has been developed from the outset to amalgamate functionality that would typically be found within disparate software products. Other experience included:- TMA2010+ Operational Analyst Support- NATS iMSP Validation Support - C++ / Java Parser Module development for RECALL data interface generation.- Episode 3 Workshop Facilitation Support

Seconded to various manufacturing plants across the UK to facilitate operational change programmes that realised significant bottom line gains.Projects included: - Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) System implementation to maximise the utilisation of key bottleneck plant. - Introduced an inventory management system aimed at minimising the lead time of turbine blade fabrication through increased situational awareness of part location and the current value added inventory levels located within the facility.- Managed a team of maintenance engineers and instigated new ways of working to maximise extrusion press availability through the adoption of best practise.
