Part of a team to design, develop and implement the ‘General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade’ (GATT) license system. The GATT Uruguay round agreement on agriculture requires the EC to respect commitments on improved market access, to limit the overall level of internal support, and reduce both the volume of, and expenditure on subsidized exports. My role was to analyze, design and develop the new GATT license generation system written within INFO\BASIC on Prime, further more to integrate the system within the existing systems, using or accessing the existing license generation system.

Part of a team working on a number of police applications including Police and Civilian personnel, Command and Control, Crime Information system.Responsible for the day to day development, support, testing, implementation and documentation of my own modules including Integrity Checker, Management Information, Report Generator and English Report Generator.Analyze and develop the required changes to allow the software to run under reality X, McDonnell Douglas UNIX platform. Problems included reducing the actual size of some of the programs so they could compile and run under the new platform, and to rewrite all display sequences in every program, for none standard terminals.

One of the first tasks as a trainee programmer with Isis computer services was to design, develop and implement a fault recording system. The system was designed ad developed to improve the response time for any faults, enhancements and change control forms being received in the office on a daily basis. The system controlled and logged all reported faults, enhancements and change control for all applications.Other responsibilities included the support of the police department’s hardware. This involved the task of reporting any hardware faults within the system to the engineers and also the day to day running of the reality operating system, i.e. file saves and restores.I accepted the opportunity to work for the special operations department to convert some of the smaller reality based systems to run under advanced revelation V2.11. After converting and transferring the system to run under AREV, I was given the task of optimizing the software by utilizing some of the facilities available with AREVS 4GL
