Headhunted by ISG to run Construction North division, this role involved all aspects of construction and commercial recruitment.

Headhunted by Amey to deliver recruitment plan for the new SDF, covering the South West and West Midlands. This was the largest framework ever awarded by National Highways. The SDF required around 50 new hires (in the Highways and Bridges team) prior to commencing in August 2022. I achieved this goal by the mobilisation date. As an added responsibility, I was given Area 10 (North West) to manage. These were mainly Civil Engineers on the design side. Regular stakeholder meetings took place, this is a fast moving project with high degrees of ambiguity, due to a TUPE from the previous incumbent, the number of requirements would change on a weekly basis. We had a shortage of available engineers in the UK and made the decision to recruit skilled engineers from outside of the UK. I was responsible for the complete process, from sourcing candidates to booking their flights. Roles recruited for were Design Team Leaders, Project Managers, Highways and Structures Engineers.

Jacobs purchased Wood Nuclear and I became part of a much larger Talent team, though I retained my original recruitment areas.

Wood Nuclear acquired Amec Foster Wheeler in 2017. My duties and responsibilities remained the largely the same. I focussed on permanent recruitment for our main nuclear client across multidiscipline engineering and technical roles.

Recruited into Amec Foster Wheeler after RPO with Millbank was terminated in favour of direct hire model, effectively joining the internal recruitment team. The agency spend was sizeable and this was a move to reduce it. This was a dual role, for contract and permanent hires. I was also responsible for the 360 degree search and selection/onboarding/contract issue on behalf of Primat (internal agency). I requested this role to keep control and ensure a consistent hiring process. Initially responsible for nuclear contract and staff recruitment within Westlakes/Sellafield, this has expanded over time to include Waste Management & Decommissioning plus a £400 million value EPC contract – BEP (Box Encapsulation Project) Key Achievements:• Direct hire of priority 1 roles within 45 days, this was achieved, regularly ahead of target. • Building and maintaining client/hiring manager relationships. • Over 95% of my hires were directly sourced, year on year. • Responsible for a high volume of roles, typically averaging 60 across all areas and engineering disciplines at any one time. • Targeted recruitment campaigns using established networks and social media to target high demand and short supply disciplines and attract those from outside the nuclear industry. • Stakeholder engagement to understand future requirements and working closely with HRBPs to smooth the way and remove any bottlenecks in the recruitment process. • Management of the full recruitment lifecycle. • Experience of using several candidate sourcing tools including job boards and CV databases. • Inclusive behaviours toward everyone, new recruitment team members and those new to the business. • Regular positive feedback from stakeholders and candidates.

Millbank were awarded RPO for Amec nuclear and I was headhunted to be the Cumbria based recruiter. Responsible for all contract recruitment at Westlakes/Sellafield. Successfully integrated into the business and established good relationships with stakeholders. This was a fast paced role with targets set by Millbank, which I consistently achieved. At peak times, I had 90 contractors on payroll. The three year RPO was renewed for a further two years until Amec was purchased by Foster Wheeler. The new business went to a direct hire model, I then joined the Amec Foster Wheeler team.
