Contracted for 10 months as a Reconciliations Assistant through a transitional period of a £250m takeover by Lex Leasing.Solely responsible for consolidating a number of accounts, each reconciling over 30 different “companies” or subsidiary organisations.Responsible for monthly bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors, treasury accounts and the Maintenance Reserve (profit history and asset register of each vehicle). I also regularly updated the organisation’s ledgers with journal postings between the different systems.Many of the accounts had accumulated many months of discrepancies, and because of the pending Lex acquisition, I had apply extra vigilance to investigate each of these in detail in order to resolve them. This involved going back through the historical records of several accounting systems, bank records and journal records, and liasing with other members of the finance department. I resolved all queries in time for the acquisition.
