CurrentAs an MP for Western Victoria, I advocate for government policy that protects and enhances the interests of regional communities. I provide a strong voice in the Upper House of Parliament for issues such as rural water security, the environment, and rural and regional infrastructure.I also have the role of Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Rural and Regional Transport.I have been involved in party policy reform in a number or areas, including the Fire Services Levy, Law and Order, and the reduction of red tape and regulation for small business.I have previously sat on the Economy and Infrastructure Legislation Committee, Economy and Infrastructure References Committee and also Chaired the Law Reform, Drugs and Crime Prevention Committee that reported on an Enquiry into the Supply and Use of Methamphetamine, particularly Ice. As of 2016, I am currently serving on the Environment, Natural Resources and Regional Development Committee and the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission Committee - both joint investigatory committees of the Parliament of Victoria.
