Once approved, I undertake a High-Level design (HLD) before consulting with the internal Technical Design Authorities to complete the Low-Level Design (LLD).• I coordinate workshops with customers and technical resources to whiteboard out requirements and discuss potential solutions, to ensure we find the best possible solutions to achieve their desired outcomes.• These design sessions account for all customer infrastructure needs and include desired third party applications, partnerships or external development teams. • I am responsible for drafting the commercial elements within the SOWs, based on contractual rates and projected effort to undertake each project.• Governance and information security are a key design principle which ensures we meet each customer's required standards. -
Solutions ArchitectConsolidated Data Services Apr 2014 - Jun 201690 Southwarke Street• Joined a new team with the goal of virtualising and migrating 36 UK headquartered agencies into the CDS data centres with their agencies, spanning 24 countries throughout Europe and Asia.• Initially setup the Managed Work Order ticket system using BMC as there were not any formalised systems in place to manage the work. This was done in conjunction with my US team members.• This MWO process was managed through travelling to the US and interviewing all the team members in the CDS technical team to ensure I understood and captured each task accurately and sequentially. After implementation we rolled the system out across the UK and US to manage all work packages.• My role was to meet every agency, do a technical deep dive to understand all their hardware, software and business systems.• I discussed with the agencies what their desired Target State was, performed a Gap Analysis and returned a proposal to the business units for review and approval. Often requiring a new build, a data migration was the preferred choice to facilitate upgrading OS and software while decommissioning the physical infrastructure.• From this point I would design a low level technical design to manage the move which often happened in stages.• These stages include Network Transport (MPLS, VPN), Infrastructure build (Context, NAT, ACLs), Physical lift and shift (Servers, SANs, iSCSI, Caching Appliances), before a phased on-boarding through either P2V, V2V or rebuild and migration.• I am also architecting any new request that comes in from an agency, for which I do the low level technical design for every solution. These vary from new physical servers, storage arrays, a virtual server to virtualised SharePoint farms. This list of requests is extensive.• In Bankside I was not involved with the desktop moves unless they were high performance systems that required fibre channel between the desktops to the agency storage arrays.
