I would portray myself as a highly experienced Managing Director with sales and operational excellence spanning the sectors of trade industry to very high end luxury retailing. My career spans 30 years of inspiring and managing effective teams. With over 14 years within the trade based structure of Jewson builders merchant group where I was operationally responsible for over 26 sales and operational outlets with a collective headcount of 100 plus staff. Within this role I began to develop my managerial skill set in the areas of leadership, effective communication, operational budgeting, succession planning and financial achievement. Whilst at Jewson I also engaged into a Senior Management Development Course over a period of 18 months.I subsequently joined Poggenpohl Group UK Limited as Director of Operations where my key responsibilities were to develop new systems and procedures to allow the company to operate in a more profitable and efficient manner, focusing on supply chain, logistics infrastructure and project management. These skills sets were further enhanced following a 12 month leadership development course which I attended.For the last six years I have been in the position of Managing Director for the business focused on all key areas of building and developing a team capable of operating in a very customer orientated way, whilst being personally responsible for the company P&L and health and safety standards, reporting to the CEO of the group in Germany. Particular highlights have been a change of staff culture within the business now focused on a growth mind set, educated risk taking whilst always looking for marginal business gains with all the team demonstrating a selfless approach to the overall growth of the business.It gives me huge personal pleasure to see the development of all the team with many of my management team the product of internal promotion. Our customers have also benefitted from this team ethic with a referral rate consistently improving allowing Poggenpohl to unpin its luxury standing within the UK market.
