Working as a classroom teacher, PE Lead and Careers Lead, supporting a new school to grow and creating opportunities for young people with Communication and Interaction needs.

Working within the Leicestershire region and with partners across the UK, to plan and deliver a successful SETT program across mainstream and SEND secondary schools.Our program aims are:- To grow and develop the existing network of schools involved.- To work with schools to assess and improve their inclusive offer for SEND young people.- To develop an effective method of collecting pupil voice, for young people with additional needs.

As PE lead across the school I have been responsible for the delivery and planning of PE and School Sport across the entire school (EYFS-KS5). I have been working directly with students and class teams to deliver outstanding inclusive PE lessons, whilst also working with non-specialist colleagues to develop their subject confidence and competence in PE and active learning.

In my role as Sports Development Lead, I have been able to create a long-term development plan for the School Sport offer, including external opportunities and competition, developing links to external providers and a bridge between our school offer and accessible opportunities for our students in the future. As a class teacher I worked with classes in KS2, 3, 4 and 5. Each class I worked with had a a variety of SEND such as ASD, MLD, SLD, PMLD and SEMH. My responsibilities included: planning and delivering meaningful provision for the young people, managing a staff team including PMR, and overseeing the PE curriculum across the school, including managing and monitoring the curriculum budget and Primary PE Premium.

As Learning Support Assistant, I worked in the classroom and throughout the school with young people aged 12-19 with SEND. I also ran lunchtime and after-school clubs focussed on sport and outdoor activities.
