I have now been a commercial data analyst since 1996, using data to drive strategic analysis and recommended actions to help drive business performance. This has been across 3 different sectors (retail, loyalty cards, financial services). I pride myself in the ability to take on analyse and utilise any data sources, making sound strategic recomendations off the back of any analysis.During my initial career at Abbey and then Santander I worked my way up from an analyst to managing a team of 8 across all the analytical marketing disciplines (direct marketing selections and evaluations, propensity modelling and strategic product/customer analytics).Having done the latter for 10 years I took the opportunity to move roles within Santander to be part of the Network Planning team. Having started my career supporting branch expansion programme at Staples, it was a natural return to something I enjoyed, with it came a real opportunity to learn from a vastly experienced network planner to which I am grateful. It's was an exciting challenge to start given the acquisitions of B&B, A&L to the Santander group in the UK as we shape and define the Network Plan for the future. Now my team's responsibility has evolved to support the full Santander UK banking strategy adding corporate and commercial banking to retail banking. My team and I are responsible for converting the market demand for all our key business lines and segments into the capacity and branches required to meet Santander UK's goals.Specialties: The ability to quickly understand and analyse data and guide strategic decision making. I have also managed to pick up a large amount of database structure and IT knowledge which has enabled me to challenge our systems colleagues to deliver appropriate solutions to business issues.
