Manage and oversee the Compliance and Data Protection function within the charity. Line reports include the DPO, Data Protection Manager, and the data analysts. Oversight of the Quality and Compliance assurance frameworks reporting to senior management teams and the Audit and Risk committee. This incorporates management of the risk register and the charting of new and emerging risk.

Managed the fundraising compliance function at this national charity and oversaw the creation and implementation of a new suite of data protection processes and policies on the back of GDPR and their revision in the light of the DPA, 2018 and subsequent legislation. Manqaged the relationship with our principal regulatory partners: FR, ICO, GC,ASA etc. Additionally oversaw the due diligence procedures and managed the fundraising contracting processes and the relevant agency contracts that arose as result. Reported to the Director of Fundraising and relevant departmental heads.

Management of fundraising and retail functions within this hospice based on the Isle of Wight. Tasked with reviewing strategy and resource base and with the re-balancing of the funding portfolio that has been historically events driven. Legacy income has more than doubled in size over successive years (400k to 1.8m) and non-statutory income has undergone significant growth.

Recruited to add impetus to the fundraising department. Accomplished via a restructuring and review linked to a three year strategic plan. Major donor and alumni programmes were established with core giving from statutory and trusts and lottery sources significantly developed.

Management of a new role within the organisation which involved the development of fresh fundraising, communication, and philanthropy strategies together with the re-positioning of the organisation within its national umbrella and with new and existing partners within the East of England region.Responsibility for fundraising across all sectors including: statutory, corporate, major donors, legacies and events. Funds raised were in excess of £1.4 million.Additionally responsible for marketing and communications including the reworking of corporate image, new web site and revision of marketing materials.

A relationship developed with this Group whilst reading for degree and continues to be maintained at a reduced level. The organization is an INGO sponsored by the UN and World Bank, and is funded by these organizations together with a number of high profile private sector donors. It is concerned with the alleviation of hunger and poverty through the provision and development of self sustaining agricultural practices in less developed countries (LDCs). A significant number of tasks were undertaken during this period:1. Acted as project manager on a number of high profile projects which included the protection of intellectual property rights (IPRs) in developing countries, emerging trends in bio diversity, and the impact of WTO policies on evolving agronomies. Postings to Columbia, Kenya, Italy and Netherlands undertaken.2. Construction in association with various of the in country research groups of substantial funding proposals to major international donors (Rockefeller, Gates Welcome etc.) and various government aid agencies together with the construction and implementation of monitoring and performance mechanisms under applicable funding agreements.3. Active participation in the Headquarters annual strategic planning and budgeting exercise which culminated in the submission of the annual funding strategy and legal review of operations to the core funding bodies of the organization i.e. UN and World Bank.
