A relationship developed with this Group whilst reading for degree and continues to be maintained at a reduced level. The organization is an INGO sponsored by the UN and World Bank, and is funded by these organizations together with a number of high profile private sector donors. It is concerned with the alleviation of hunger and poverty through the provision and development of self sustaining agricultural practices in less developed countries (LDCs). A significant number of tasks were undertaken during this period:1. Acted as project manager on a number of high profile projects which included the protection of intellectual property rights (IPRs) in developing countries, emerging trends in bio diversity, and the impact of WTO policies on evolving agronomies. Postings to Columbia, Kenya, Italy and Netherlands undertaken.2. Construction in association with various of the in country research groups of substantial funding proposals to major international donors (Rockefeller, Gates Welcome etc.) and various government aid agencies together with the construction and implementation of monitoring and performance mechanisms under applicable funding agreements.3. Active participation in the Headquarters annual strategic planning and budgeting exercise which culminated in the submission of the annual funding strategy and legal review of operations to the core funding bodies of the organization i.e. UN and World Bank.
