I am an industry-leading additive manufacturing expert, innovator, and businessman dedicated to bettering our industry by proactively seeking out and addressing problem areas. As Co-Founder and CEO of Meta Additive, I believe we have done exactly that; our revolutionary 3D printing metal and ceramic process will not only provide a solution to classic problems such as shrinkage, density, and support generation, but will expand the industry’s capabilities in ways previously not thought possible.In the same vein, in 2015 I founded Scott AM to provide a better future for 3D printing through a focus on low volume, high value vacuum casting production technology for the automotive, medical, and motorsport industries. Initially starting as a consultancy business, we eventually expanded our offerings and now provide everything from vacuum casting materials to machinery, as well as expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and advanced manufacturing solutions for both metals and plastics.In two of my previous roles, Managing Director of Renishaw Additive Manufacturing Product Division and CEO of MTT, my commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry allowed both businesses to thrive and innovate. The plethora of knowledge available in university departments across the country had previously gone untapped, and my opening up an ongoing dialogue resulted in the creation of an interconnected higher-education hub across the North-West and Midlands. Thanks to this knowledge base, MTT became the first and only U.K. metal additive machinery manufacturer and boasted a range of new clients both locally and internationally.This combined experience has instilled in me the importance of bringing the right people together from manufacturing, academia, and other industries to challenge one another to be better. I have vision for this industry and have always looked at the bigger picture in everything I do, seeing it as a puzzle which can be solved.
