As South Island Commercial Manager I am currently responsible for all financial, contractual and business development within the South Island. Our current portfolio of projects encompass healthcare, education, commercial retail, office blocks, large scale residential apartment blocks and infrastructure projects. Our focus within the commercial team is on process improvement, developing the team and delivering high quality projects for our clients.

Hawkins / IAG Project Management Office (PMO)As Commercial Manager my specific responsibilities included reviewing and managing all commercial aspects of the PMO. At its peak I was responsible for leading a team of 42 QSs, 4 Payment Clerks and 2 Project Administrators, managing an eartquake project turnover in excess of $1b.2015 - Hawkins Management Programme: I was selected as one of 18 participants within the Hawkins Group of companies to attend the Auckland University Business School. The Programme was designed to develop future senior leadership within the Hawkins Group. Over the course of the year, the Programme developed multiple aspects of strategic leadership.2016 - Project Excellence Programme: Again I was selected from within the Hawkins Group of companies to attend Unitec in Auckland. Project Excellence was designed to develop future Hawkins leaders. 2016 - 2IC to the PMO General manager for the last six months of the project.

Hawkins / IAG Project Management Office (PMO)Responsible for building and developing the Hawkins QS Team in their financial/commercial management of the Canterbury earthquake repairs. Worked in conjunction with Rawlinsons / IAG to develop a Canterbury EQ Price Book, which approximately $200m - $300m worth of repairs were eventually managed through. I originally inherited a team of six Quantity Surveyors, which I grew to a team of twenty Quantity Surveyors, three Payment Clerks, one Contract Administrator and six General Administrators.

Canterbury & West Coast, New Zealand

I emigrated to New Zealand with my family to work as an Estimator/QS for Arnold Jensen, reporting directly into the Contracts Division PM, and when he left the company in December 2009, I then reported directly into the Director of the Contracts Division, encompassing large amounts of the Projects Managers role too. I was responsible for the estimating department within the company for commercial, industrial projects.
