Professor So has extensive marketing and consultancy experience in the Far East Region. Prior to joining academic field, Professor So was General Manager of Marketing and Public Services Division at Cable and Wireless Systems (now a member of PCCW.) As an Academic, he has also concurrently worked as Consultant with more than 33 prestigious firms including General Motors, Mattel Toys, Ericsson, Rolls Royce, Carriers, Colgate, Dodwell, Dailmer Benz, Ericson, Shui On Group, China Resources Group, China Aerospace International Holding, Asian Development Bank, China Mobile, China Unicom, Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd. Disney, Pulse Electronics, Caterpillar, Kone, Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Hang Seng Bank, Modern Terminal, China Telecom, China Unicom, Shenzhen Development Bank and BHP in Australia. Professor So is a very active program organizers and management consultant and have undertaken several projects for multinational firm in the Far East Region. He was also invited to China to conduct a number of courses and projects in Management for directors of State Owned Enterprises. He is one of the founders appointed to set up the Shanghai Institute of Business and Management and had been Deputy Director of the Center for more than 22 years. The Center has been a premier training center having offered management programs to more than 120,000 senior government officials and managers of State Owned Enterprises in Shanghai Region since 1996. Professor So is also founding Program Director of the first Entrepreneurship Major in Hong Kong at HKBU Professor So has published many articles and books in Strategic planning and marketing, the case he wrote “Torrington Wuxi Bearing – From a State owned enterprises to a Sino American Joint Venture”, published by School of Business of HKU, was selected by Harvard Business School Press as teaching case to be distributed all over the world via HBS web site.Professor So was appointed as Visiting Professor by Shanghai university in 2017
