Managing a team of Employer Compliance Officers dealing with employers within the Large and Complex classification (roughly companies with turnover from £30 million to £600 Million).

London Specialist Compliance Office

Managing a team of experienced Employer Compliance Officers seeking to find new methods of risk assessment, case selection and conducting interventions. The team specialised in businesses that were international and constituted the London Expatriate Compliance Team. The team also developed extensive knowledge of tax and NIC issues in the Leisure industry specialising and leading national projects in the Restaurant and Hotel businesses (particularly those at the highest level of the market).

Specialist Spend To Save Team

On promotion to Higher Executive Officer, I was recruited to an experimental team to initially provide technical support to a London based team. This was the start of the London Expatriate Tax team. The existing team manager moved on shortly after and I took over the role of managing the team and sort to develop the skills of 2 existing officers and to recruit a further 2 more and train them accordingly. As the team grew, I trained the team members to look at larger organisations, to use existing internal data to establish a customer base, identify methods to deselect lower risk entities and concentrate on the higher risk cases.

Large Business Office (Leco)

Conduct Employer Compliance Reviews into the largest employers in the UK, including government departments and politically sensitive organisations.I was assigned to the Foreign Banks team in the London office and this is where I developed my initial knowledge in Expatriate Taxation.
