When I started with CVS, the company was supplying new & used MG Rover & Ford product to main dealer & Car Supermarkets across the country on a trade to trade only basis. I was involved across the board with all of our activities as I was the only other full time position in the company apart from the two company directors. So whether it was office based, implementing the new computer & invoicing systems, arranging the logistics of having a team of 6+ drivers on the road 5 days a week… Show more When I started with CVS, the company was supplying new & used MG Rover & Ford product to main dealer & Car Supermarkets across the country on a trade to trade only basis. I was involved across the board with all of our activities as I was the only other full time position in the company apart from the two company directors. So whether it was office based, implementing the new computer & invoicing systems, arranging the logistics of having a team of 6+ drivers on the road 5 days a week, organising the logistics of collection & delivery of vehicles from auction houses, the docks or main dealer into customers across the country, making sure banking & payments were collected & received, purchasing of stock through manufacturer auctions which involved the inspection of the cars, choosing the right trade stock, negotiating on provisional lots & ultimately being in charge of a spend in the region of £200k at each auction. As time went on and the business progressed I was in charge of the logistics compound from which I started the company first foray into the retail market to the general public. This then involved setting up a retail sight from scratch, arranging the advertising in the paper media, yes before the age of internet advertising! Setting up relationships with finance companies, warranty companies & workshops for the preparation of the vehicles. I also handled the valuing of the part exchanges, after sales etc. This led to a 70 vehicle site in Worcester opening, where by both the trade & retail side of the business all passed through here.
