My contract was moved to Warp from my previous position at PMG after PMG was acquired by Captia. Warp, in addition to supplying generic reporting systems for the Medico Legal sector, also provide IT consulting services to Capita as part of a corporate restructure.My role within the organisation has essentially remained unchanged from my time at PMG.

Premier Medical Group specialises in supplying Medico Legal reports for solicitors in the insurance claims sector.My time at PMG was spent developing Middle Tier integration solutions for the major customers. These systems were written in C# and SQL (Microsoft SQL Server) and utilised XML as the data transport mechanism over a SOAP or REST Web Service. While at PMG I developed a generic XML Integration Framework architecture and internal XSD/XML specification that has become the standard for all new customer integrations.

Fidessa LatentZero provides ‘buy side’ Asset Management software for the financial sector.My responsibilities at Fidessa LatentZero involved owning and maintaining the Web interface of the Sentinel application. Sentinel is an industry established pre and post-trade investment compliance system. The Sentinel Web system was written in classic ASP with Visual Basic 6, XML, SQL and AJAX. I also developed several other web and ‘win form’ applications using ASP.NET (including the AJAX Control Toolkit) and C#.

Fisher Clinical Services runs Phase 3 Clinical Trails for some of the major drugs manufacturers in accordance with GMP guidelines.My responsibilities at Fisher involved maintaining the current system and creating bespoke solutions using Visual Basic 6, ASP and C# in conjunction with Microsoft SQL Server (using T-SQL via .NET SQLClient and ADO) and IIS. I was also been given a Team Leader/Architect role of a larger project, for labeling medication, written in VisualStudio.NET and C#.

Quadrant Systems Ltd. develops, installs and refits professional Aircraft Simulation training systems.With this role I enjoyed the responsibility of overseeing the full life cycle of a new software solution – the IOS (Instructor Operator System). This system was written designed using Rational Rose (UML) and written in Microsoft Visual Basic 6 and Microsoft Visual C++ and utilised COM+ (DCOM) and Microsoft Message Queuing technology.

Altris Software Ltd. develops Document Management Systems. Altris was taken over by Spescom Ltd, a large South African company, in 1999.My time at Altris was spent in ‘Professional Services’ as a technical consultant, working with clients and partners, to resolve software integration issues using Microsoft Visual C++, Microsoft Visual Basic and COM. In addition to these duties I was also required to participate in and create corporate sales presentations. These presentations were designed and implemented with ‘Microsoft Power Point’.

Raytheon (formerly Hughes UK Ltd. until 1998) develops Air Traffic Control Simulation systems.My time at Raytheon/Hughes was spent first as an I.T. Consultant and then as a Team Leader of four developers. I designed and developed a number of small utilities using VBA, Microsoft Front Page, HTML and JavaScript and then a larger scale ‘Simulation Data Preparation’ system using Microsoft Visual Basic 6, SQL, Microsoft Visual C++ and ActiveX technologies.

T.I.S.L. specialises in Call Centres and Voice Recording technologies.My time at T.I.S.L. was spent as an analyst programmer researching, designing and developing what was to be the new ‘distributed component’ voice recording system. This system was written entirely in a ‘Microsoft Visual C++’ environment on a ‘Microsoft Windows NT’ platform. The system was designed in UML using Rational Rose prior to implementation.

Resolution SQL develops Accounting and Billing systems. At Resolution my time was spent working on their well established accountancy system during a time of conversion from a C environment, running on a UNIX platform, to a Microsoft Visual C++ environment, running on a Windows platform.

Kalahari develops bespoke Trading information utilities for the Futures Market.My time at Kalahari was spent as a Software Engineer developing their new dealing room and pricing system. This system was written in a ‘Borland C++’ environment for a ‘Microsoft Windows NT’ platform.

CIS Quest specialises in Voicemail and Telephone Recording Systems.I took the role of ‘Software Analyst’ at CIS-Quest as it afforded me the opportunity to move into a Microsoft Windows platform with cross training to a C++ development environment. My tasks at CIS-Quest were to support and enhance the current legacy product, written in Turbo C for a DOS platform and to design and develop the next generation product, written in Borland C++ for a Microsoft Windows platform.

NBS Ltd specialises in high security photographic ID Card systems. I first started working for NBS, straight from college, as a ‘Junior Programmer’ and was later promoted to ‘Software Engineer’. My tasks at NBS were to maintain and support the current systems and to research and develop new systems to specific customer requirements. All the systems were written in Microsoft C in a DOS environment.
