Simon Tothill has a track record of delivering architectural projects embedded with deep thinking and creative solutions. Simon’s recent on work large scale retail, convention and entertainment facilities has involved collaborating with other inspired professionals to deliver unique, groundbreaking systems within strict project parameters. His particular skill lies in his understanding of the operations of these complex facilities from systems, logistics, food service through to workplace and security. Simon has developed expertise in the design and operation of venues over a period of twenty years. He is a member of the Venue Management Association (Asia Pacific) Ltd. His key interest is how venues interact with the fabric of a city to mutual benefit. He has served as chair of the Property Council (SA) Retail and Mainstreets Committee and has been a member of the committee for the seven years. During this time, Simon has contributed to the production of the second volume of the committee’s popular Best Practice Guide and has been involved with the organisation of associated masterclasses and events. Simon is a member of MainstreetSA, an organisation that promotes and supports the interface between retail, commerce and communities.Simon believes that Public Art has a critical role in placemaking by signifying the confidence that a community has in its identity and imagination. He is a member of Adelaide City Council’s Public Art Round Table and is an advocate for unearthing creative expression.Simon is a skilled communicator effective in developing a collaborative approach to solving complex project issues. This approach to problem solving and technical understanding contributes to the delivery of successful projects.
