Ø To ensure process control and efficient operation of the plantØ Start up and shut down of equipment as per SOP, ensure the effient sample taking according to schedule.Ø Unblocking of equipment and cleaning surrounding areas.Ø Prepare equipment/plant maintenance and ensure the first line maintenance according to procedures.Ø Address all unsafe practices/potential hazardous situations, rectify/report to the management.Ø Comply with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC)/technical requirements.Ø Perform equipment change over according to present schedules. Raise work requests or defect notes for faulty equipment and ensure complying to relevant health regulations as stipulated in the OHS Act regulations. ` All potential health and safety hazards, machinery defects are identified and reported to relevant Team Leader. Ø Equipment is continuously checked, checklists completed and identified problems reported. ` Results on completed log sheets are recorded and filed. Logbooks for process unit are completed and used for shift hand over.

Ø Monitor, control and maintain optimum plant operating conditions.Ø Sample regular in-process product and performing quality checks to ensure the product conforms to specification.Ø Ability to have an excellent knowledge of distributed control system, analogue control system, advanced process control, programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) and emergency shutdowns.Ø Assists with the preparations of the plant work clearance permits and monitoring of contractors working on the plant.Ø Attending Plant meeting with my manager regarding daily production, HAZOP and Management of Change (MOC).Ø Inspections and filling of road tanker / ISO-TankØ Ensure, that when required, the plant is made safe for technical personnel to perform maintenance work.Ø Correct deviations conditions through fault findings analysis and performing necessary changes to operating parameters to ensure safe re-starting of the plant.Ø Compliance with the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Responsible Care standards and proceduresØ Ensure compliance to OHS act, LANXESS Directives.
