Simon Romuel Legion Uy is a campus journalist, historical activist, and good governance advocate. He is a fourth-year student studying Communication Arts major at the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, Lucena City. He serves as the Scribe of the Honor Society of the Lambda Kappa Phi and is currently on his third term on the council, Managing Editor of The Luzonian, Director of Communications for National Society of Parliamentarians-Kamara PH, Head of Publicity and Information Committee for University Collegiate Student Council, and a core member of Láya. He is also an artist and was able to produce and manage literary folios called Andamyo and creative content in The Luzonian. He is also passionate about telling stories through images. As the publication's lead photojournalist, he was designated as the official campaign photographer of the Ating Lucena Volunteer Corps, Shine Leni-Kiko, Youth Vote for Leni-Kiko, and Nebu Alejandrino-Segunda Distrito for the 2022 campaign in Philippine local and national elections. With a demonstrated history of different leadership positions in various civil society and youth organizations, new learnings, and experience motivates him to continue the pursuit of wisdom and truth in everything as to impart his knowledge in public relations, secretarial and administrative work, political movements, and promoting good governance through innovation and community development projects.He now wishes to pursue a career in journalism and work in the media to be on the front lines where the battle for press freedom, ethics, principles, and the truth has an essential role to play in our country’s democracy. He has shown a strong passion for culture, history, and art, especially nationalism; his personal advocacy in fighting historical revisionism and distortion, preserving and spreading the values of the Philippine history and cultural heritage is vital to his integrity as a Filipino to keep his passion burning.
