I have enjoyed working in architectural practice for over 30 years, originally working for practices in Liverpool and Chester before joining Ainsley Gommon Architects in 1985. I opened and established Ainsley Gommon's Wales office in 1988 as project architect and associoate, becoming a Partner in 1989 and a Director in 2001 when the practice became a limited company. As Project Director/Lead Consultant on numerous new build projects and refurbishment schemes, I enjoy working collaboratively with others, having worked closely with housing providers, schools, colleges, GP practices, NHS Trusts, Local Authorities and other public bodies across Wales and England. I believe the presentation of clear design ideas is all about story telling in a creative and direct way, avoiding jargon and using language in a manner that reaches out to everyone at all levels. I have substantial experience of traditional procurement, partnering and design build and regard myself as being very adaptable and open minded to new ideas and challenges. Sharing knowledge and technological advances is key to collaborative working and I am comfortable acting as Lead Consultant, Design Co-ordinator, or Employers representative on wide range of project types.
