Compound Company is a young contemporary urban dance company from Aachen/NRW under the artistic direction of Yvonne Eibig and the technical direction of Dr. Simon Virgo. The company currently consists of two female and three male dancers. With their different stylistic profiles - such as contemporary dance, breaking, tricking and hiphop - and nationalities, they stand for the cultural diversity that characterises the work of the company.The ensemble explores the interaction between human bodies and digital stage design. The underlying techniques are 3-dimensional mapping of space and real-time 3D modelling on the computer. By integrating spatially precisely localized projections, an augmented reality effect is created in which the real world is supplemented by a digital dimension. Dancers and space are not only a projection surface but also an interface to influence and change the digital dimension.
