As Global Industry Manager Mobility, Simon Vitzthum is active in the field of mechanical testing solutions for global customers from the mobility sector, primarily the automotive industry. The title of the doctoral thesis is "In-situ Analysis of Elastic-Plastic Characteristics of Steels Sheets". Within this research study, he focused on the microstructural analysis of steel materials and especially dual phase high strength steels by synchrotron diffraction to improve material understanding and as a result, the Finite Element Method.
