I've scaled up cross functional teams from 5 to 50.Currently as Head of Development I oversee the entire software development lifecycle. I’ve been responsible for the delivery of multiple projects across 4 teams (40+ people in 3 locations), including most recently:**A semantic search platform that underpins our client’s flagship pricing/news dashboard product. Delivered on time with a seamless transition from the old platform (event driven architecture using Azure serverless functions, Elastic Search, graph database)**A content syndication service - multiple data sources are stored, batched and delivered to external clients. (event driven Azure architecture, serverless functions, Angular front end)**An AI Chatbot service for interrogating financial reports - successful POC moving onto a release of an MVP (LLM, RAG architecture, vector search)OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:Leadership, stakeholder and people management of the Central Platforms teams encompassing back end services, data platforms, semantic search, content authoring and web publishing.Ensuring a motivated team by providing clear achievable goals and embedding 'extracurricular activities' into the team such as hackathons, team days, demos and regular virtual social events.Roadmap planning and budget forecasting to ensure project teams have the resources available to deliver.Recruitment, vendor management, and relationship management of our offshore partners in Russia and Serbia.Tracking project and team performance using KPIs, OKRs and specific metrics to facilitate clear and concise reporting for senior management.
