My role as an RMU case manager was to identify potentially fraudulent customers making false home insurance claims.We used various processes and interviewing techniques over the telephone in order to identify which customers we thought could be fraudulent. Following the telephone interviews we were required to make calculated judegment calls as to whether we needed any further information from the customer. Following the telephone interviews we were required to make calculated judegment calls as to whether we needed any further information from the customer. It was common place to ask for photo's of the damage, drawings and evening some of the damamged items in question.We did have the facility to refer high value claims on to a designated forensics team if we remained unhappy with the circumstances.Our final decision was based on factual information and sometimes physical evidence as provided by the customer.
