A Senior Information Officer based at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in London. I am responsible for providing valuable insight into global opinion on perceptions of the UK, as well as global opinion on the issues and challenges currently facing the world.Key Responsibilities:- Conducting research and analysis of global opinion on the UK, international relations and global issues.- Liaising with British embassies all over the world to gather and collate information on global opinion and sentiment towards the UK and its policies.- Working with international research agencies to gather and analyse data on global issues and challenges facing the world.- Developing and maintaining databases of information and analysis to inform decision-making and policy development.- Producing regular reports and briefings for Ministers and senior leadership on global opinion, trends and insights.- Collaborate with other teams in FCDO and across Whitehall to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information and insights.

As a member of the Cabinet Office's communications team, I played a crucial role in coordinating government communications activities. My primary responsibility was to provide insight to inform government communications and policy, which involved working closely with research agencies and various stakeholders across Whitehall.In this capacity, I developed and implemented insight programs to influence and drive policy and communications strategies. This required anticipating and mitigating potential issues, and developing robust plans to respond to unforeseen events, in order to ensure that government communication efforts were consistent and impactful.I also played a key role in coordinating stakeholder engagement activities, building strong relationships with stakeholders and actively engaging with them to ensure effective communication and engagement with key partners. This enabled initiatives to be well received and effectively communicated to all parties involved.

Part of the Covid-19 Government Communications hub. This was rapidly established to deliver priority Government communications objectives. The role includes: - Disseminating and filtering daily research data. Highlighting and reporting key findings to Ministers and senior policy officials (e.g. SAGE) to inform decision making. - Reporting insights to various teams across Government, ensuring insights are relevant to each respective department's wider activities and objectives. - Developing, evolving and managing information flows, ensuring key insights and the right information flow to the right people in a way that they can be best actioned on.

Part of the Transition Communications Centre, set up to coordinate cross Whitehall efforts to communicate next steps to stakeholders and businesses in the UK and EU, as the UK prepares to exit the Transition Period at the end of 2020. The role included: - Evaluating messaging and the response from our stakeholders and audiences, helping to develop message delivery and drive forward the Government’s comms strategies in the UK and Europe. - Working cross Government to aid the development of Key Performance Indicators for both comms and policy, ensuring comms outputs were aligned with clear policy objectives. - Integrating behavioral science into KPI development. - Identifying clear policy and comms objectives which were deliverable, and therefore value for money. - Establishing systems and processes to best coordinate across Whitehall, developing clear achievable objectives allowing for effective and clear allocation of workstreams.

Part of the Strategic Communications team at the Department for Exiting the EU, ensuring Government messaging reaches the right audiences in the right way. The role included: - Evaluating messaging and the response from our stakeholders and audiences, helping to develop message delivery and drive forward the Government’s comms strategies in the UK and Europe, as the UK worked to develop a new relationship with the European Union. - Developing reporting to ensure it was optimised to deliver key information quickly. - Managing reporting from multiple teams, integrating it into one final product. - Aiding the procurement of external suppliers for DExEU. - Managing key relationships with external suppliers. Evolving the relationship so what was delivered matched the Department’s ever changing requirements.

Delivering in depth analytical quantitative and qualitative research projects, covering a number of sectors including both business-to-business and consumer research, as well as brand tracking research programmes. Experience in combining research projects with in depth media analysis, combining the two to create comprehensive research reports, giving in depth insight to clients.I have worked on numerous research methodologies including online research, telephone interviews (qual and quant with various audiences) and face-to-face research.

Working exclusively for the European Commission carrying out EU wide political media analysis. Role included managing language analysts across the world, managing data and managing databases. Project management elements included working as a team and individually to produce in depth media analysis reports. This involved accessing data to produce charts, editing copy from professional writers, and writing tracts of the report myself, all to tight monthly deadlines.

This is extremely important over the Christmas period, when we employ temporary workers to deal with the large increase in business. I must make sure they know what they were doing and performed according to company expectations.
