Initially the Management Accountant at Icon Polymer Ltd until 2006, I accepted the senior position of Finance Manager at Silentbloc UK, both divisions of Icon Polymer Group.Based in Retford and Burton-on-Trent, these roles reported to the Group Finance Director. The Silentbloc role involved:• Resolving post takeover issues and implementing financial controls• Preparing the monthly management accounts and maintaining accounting records• Inter-company and balance sheet reconciliations with input into group accounts• Budget & forecasting P&L, balance sheet and cashflow models for all group companies• Producing statutory accounts and tax packs for four companies. • Ownership and management of stock takes• Preparation of site payroll• Cashflow management, sales ledger review and authorisation, supplier payment authorisation and contract management• key member in the new Max system implementation at the Burton siteI had 2 members of staff reporting directly to me; Accounts Assistant and an IT systems person. During this time I worked on several projects which included the integration of the Burton product streams onto the Retford site, and being a super user and signification member of the major upgrade to the MRP system at Retford.

Temporary contract as a Financial Assistant at Moorlands Housings Head Office in Leek. Initially, employed to re-develop a 30-year business plan, I assisted in budget preparation, provided relevant data for the revaluation of the housing stock, arrears analysis, control account balancing, and assisted in the running of the purchase ledger. Furthermore, I worked on numerous small projects (bank reconciliation; aged creditors/statement balancing; reviewing rent procedures), multi-tasked by providing sales ledger cover and general help to the department when needed.

Staveley, Chestefield

A 15-month industrial placement based at Head Office in Derbyshire, in the newly formed Business Analyst Team. The Team was created to resolve the failure of information flows and reporting within the company. The key areas of responsibility included creation of all analysis reports, customer sector and product project using volumes, revenues, mapping systems and market information to establish profit streams, and new system implementation, specifically data transfer.
